HAL MEETING 5/11/09

Clinton Deckert will focus on the creative process and techniques to break through the “blank canvas syndrome.” He will also show slides of his work with some paintings on display for discussion. His work combines abstract
thoughts and surreal imagery. He created an assemblage for the Gala Salvador Dali event at the Wadsworth Atheneum, Hartford. His work has been in juried shows at the New Britain Museum of American Art and the
Slater Memorial Museum in Norwich, CT. He painted works for the “CowParade New York”, “CowParade
West Hartford” and the Oil Drum Art exhibit in Hartford.

Clinton has twice been awarded an Artist Fellowship Grant from the Greater Hartford Arts Council. He is past president of Artworks Gallery in Hartford and served on their Board of Directors for 14 years. His work can be
seen at Lotus Fine Art in Woodstock, NY, Polonaise Gallery in Woodstock, VT, and the White Space Gallery
in New Haven.

Meeting at Miller Library Senior Center activity room, 2901 DixwellAvenue in Hamden.
Socializing begins at 7:15 pm, followed by a brief business meeting at 7:30 and artist’s demo at 7:45.
